Bu Bu Jing Xin OST Song – ‘Season of Waiting’ Chinese Lyrics, Pinyin Lyrics, and English Translation

Last day of Columbus weekend 😦

Anywayysss, this is another Bu Bu Jing Xin OST song, sung by the main actress herself, Liu Shi Shi.  It’s called Season of Waiting – Deng Ni De Ji Jie –

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

Waiting for summer, waiting for autumn

Waiting for the next season

I have to wait until the moon becomes full

In order for you to return to my side

Whether I want to see you again or not

I can’t do anything about it, I still miss you

I suddenly want to see your face

It is a familiar feeling

Even if we don’t hold hands we can still stroll through the rain and snow

Even if we can’t meet each other we can still gaze at the twilight

I just want to let you know

I am doing very well

I love my entire life and and would all over the world

I will wait for you until you’re old

I just want to let you know

I can’t let it go or forget about it

Your laugh and your goodness

Are the warm pillars I rely on

Bu Bu Jing Xin – What Happened to Yutan?

So this is kind of a random post, but judging from the number of searches that went something like “what happened to yutan??” that led to my blog, I’m just gonna write a (hopefully) clarifying post.

So.  We saw that Yutan was in the steaming thing.  And so we all obviously wonder WHY IN THE WORLDDDD???!?!

Basically, Yutan was put in place at the palace by the 9th prince.  Remember, way back when, when episodes were slightly less depressive, and it showed us Yutan’s backstory, about how she was on the streets trying to get money from people so that her family could survive, and then there was that guy in the carriage whose face we couldn’t see, only the rings on his fingers?  Well, turns out that that guy was 9th prince!

Through a series of the 9th prince’s flashbacks, we see that he took care of her, and he taught her how to read and write, and they loved each other, and awwwww (even though 9th prince always manages to creep me out, especially after that incident with his gang and Lu Wu).  But yeah.  So the 9th prince had put her into the palace in order to spy on 4th prince (or emperor now I guess).  Yutan was killed because although 4th prince had warned her before already, she continued to transfer information.  And so, 4th prince killed her.

Now this leads to the question: was Yutan ever really being sincere with Ruo Xi, or was she just playing the part and trying to stay close to Ruo Xi so that if things were ever to get bad, she wouldn’t be hit too hard?  I think that Yutan really did think of Ruo Xi as a sister; she took the time to write Ruo Xi a note and explain things (sort of) to her.  If she didn’t at least hold a little importance to Ruo Xi, then I don’t think she would have taken that time, you know?

I felt so bad for Ruo Xi though, her confidante, and someone she considered a younger sister was just taken from her.  And in such a horrible, gruesome way, too.

I watched the episode that this occurred in (31) without English subs, so I was going on my Chinese listening skills and reading the subtitles.  I obviously did not know it all.

So, if I have completely misinterpreted the story behind Yutan’s death, then please don’t hesitate to comment and correct me!  I don’t want to be spreading around misinformation or anything.  And if I didn’t explain the whole thing, then go ahead and comment clearing things up more.  🙂

Bu Bu Jing Xin OST Song – ‘A Persistent Thought’ English Translation, Chinese Lyrics, and Pinyin Lyrics

So this song is the opening song to Bu Bu Jing Xin.  It’s called A Persistent Thought – Yi Nian Zhi Zhuo – 一念执著, by Hu Ge and Alan.  I didn’t think it was as pretty as Three Inches of Heaven, but the more I listened to it, the more I liked it.  So here’s the chinese lyrics, pinyin, and an english translation.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

In the blink of an eye, one persistent thought

Is fated to disappear like a moth flying into a flame

I clearly knew it was trouble, why am I still at such a loss?

Best not to meet, best not to miss you

Only this way will I be able to not fall in love with you

I pass by you with one more step

And step by step fall in love with you

It is time’s fault

That we could only pass by and miss each other

I miss you so much, and you are so far away

If I knew earlier that the outcome would be bitter

I wouldn’t want to escape this moment in time

The words “It’s a pity” hurt my eyes

Two worlds afterward

Love is deep, but the edges are shallow

In the blink of an eye, one persistent thought

Is fated to disappear like a moth flying into a flame

I clearly knew it was trouble, why am I still at such a loss?

Best not to meet, best not to miss you

If I knew earlier that the ending was a mistake that could not be resisted

I would stay in this moment of time

And wouldn’t want to escape

It is time’s fault

That we could only pass by and miss each other

I miss you so much, and you are so far away

If I knew earlier that the outcome would be bitter

I wouldn’t want to escape this moment in time

Bu Bu Jing Xin Episode 31

Oh my god.  So I wasn’t really planning on writing any posts about the individual episodes of Bu Bu Jing Xin because I was thinking that since school is like in session and all, and there’s kind of a lot of episodes, I was like meh I won’t have time.  But this is a three-day weekend (thank you, Christopher Columbus, High Admiral of the seas), and this episode was just so……holy crap man.

Clearly, if you haven’t watched this episode yet, then don’t freaking read on.  You’re just ruining it for yourself.  Anyways.

So my source for these episodes doesn’t have any subs up, so I am sadly trying to get by with my kind of okay knowledge of Chinese right now.  So when Cheng Huan (such a cutiee <3) came in and was telling Ruo Xi that they were “zheng”-ing someone, I was like ok, no idea what that is, but it probably isn’t important.  Then Ruo Xi kept asking her about it, trying to clarify what it was.  And then she realized what it was, and I looked at the Chinese character subtitles and typed the pinyin into Google Translate.  And then the scene continued on, and I was like what the heck this cannot be happening.  I WAS SO SAD.  That scene was horrifying.  Even though the throwup from the servants was obviously fake and kind of funny (despite the gravity of the situation), you could clearly tell that there was a person in the burning thing.  And then Ruo Xi is asking the eunuch who’s trying to restrain her who it is, and then we see the face, and it’s like oh.my.god.  Especially seeing Yutan’s face like, just in the crack, her eyes unblinking.

AND THEN.  Ruo Xi is pregnant??  SAY WHAT??!?  (Also, this drama’s time skips are really subtle, like I usually can’t tell unless the characters actually bring it up; but in this case I guess the emperor getting a stache is the sign that some time has passed.  And I guess the fact that some kid is calling him dad…. but psh, definitely more the first reason).

But then, she finds out that it is in fact HER and her actions that have caused all of the suffering, like Thirteenth prince being put under house arrest for 10 years.  And she has a miscarriage, and life gets downright horrible for the eighth prince’s people.  I am sitting here almost afraid to go on in the series….

On a lighter note, I’m glad they brought back Qiao Hui.  I liked her when she was serving Ruo Xi in the beginning episodes, and she’s back now, so yeah…

Also, a comment on an earlier episode that is related to Qiao Hui; I can’t believe Ruo Lan died 😦  The tragedy really just starts coming at you in this drama.  Oh man….

So while I can’t say that I’m excited for the next few episodes, because you can pretty much tell that they’re gonna bring on a world of hurt, I am so ready to watch them because this drama’s plot and characters, and directing and music is SO GOOD.  SJD:LSKJFKJ

Bu Bu Jing Xin OST Song – ‘Three Inches of Heaven’ English Translation and Pinyin Lyrics

So, as requested, here is the english translation of the lyrics for Three Inches of Heaven – San Cun Tian Tang – 三寸天堂.  I’ve also included the pinyin lyrics.  In the last post, I had a video that only played the song for how long it is in the ending credits.  Here is a longer version of the song.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION

We’ve stopped at this place, afraid to go any further

Not allowing sorrow to make an appearance

On the next page, the goodbye you hand-wrote

I cannot refuse

We’ve walked this path too hastily

To embrace is not what I’m am truly longing for

It’s too late, I could not wait anymore to look back and appreciate

The scent of magnolia cannot protect against wounds

Don’t look anymore at the sunlight peeking through the clouds

Don’t search anymore for the heaven we had decided upon

Don’t sigh anymore, you said it yourself that humans are transient

Unable to get three inches of daylight

We’ve stopped at this place, afraid to go any further

Not allowing sorrow to make an appearance

On the next page, the goodbye you hand-wrote

I cannot refuse

We’ve walked this path too hastily

To embrace is not what I’m am truly longing for

It’s too late, I could not wait anymore to look back and appreciate

The scent of magnolia cannot protect against wounds

Don’t look anymore at the sunlight peeking through the clouds

Don’t sigh anymore, you said it yourself that humans are transient

Unable to get three inches of daylight

Don’t look anymore at the sunlight peeking through the clouds

Don’t search anymore for the heaven we had decided upon

Don’t sigh anymore, you said it yourself that humans are transient

Unable to get three inches of daylight

That place where I loved you was heaven

Bu Bu Jing Xin OST Song

So this is the ending theme for Bu Bu Jing Xin.  It’s sooo gorgeous and it’s been stuck in my head for a while, and I only just recently looked up the lyrics.  So I was lazy, and I have homework to do, so I only got the lyrics for the excerpt of the song that plays at the end credits of each episode.  I’ll leave the entire song’s lyrics for a weekend….

This song is called Three Inches of Heaven – San Cun Tian Tang –

LYRICS

Bu Bu Jing Xin

So there’s this show I’m watching.  Even though it’s junior year.  And my usual bedtime is 1:30am.  Why am I doing this?  Because this drama is worth it.  Oh man.  So even though sometimes the acting feels kinda forced/fake cute, the good parts are like, SO GOOD.

This is actually the first ever period piece that I’ve watched voluntarily.  I’ve seen fragments of piece dramas on TV when my parents were watching on CCTV (gotta love Chinese TV in America, the only channel we get <3).  And I have to say it’s quite a change from the modern rom-coms that we have so much of.  I like it a lot.  THE PRINCES ARE SO ATTRACTIVE.  Hehe I think 14th prince looks like Orlando Bloom, and I heart me some Orlando Bloom.

So YEAH.  You should watch this.  Even though I can’t find a completely subbed source.  Like the last two episodes and all the rest I’m going to watch will probably be unsubbed because people are being slow and not subbing them.  Sooo I’m improving my Chinese too 🙂  At least that’s my logic and comfort for when I get atrocious grades this quarter.
